The Daily Rant ?
This particular Rant? is becoming an annual feature, I think. I think I Ranted? similarly last year.
I was at my hair guy today, getting the usual roots/cut and color, and he had the local “lite rock” station on. Now, I hear snippets from them various places; it’s about the only station that comes in way in the back of my office, for instance, or in the ORs (too much steel-reinforced concrete around). It is not my station of choice; for every good oldie they play, they play a lot of Top-40 dreck.
It isn’t even fucking Thanksgiving for two more weeks, and they’ve been playing fucking Christmas carols for at least the last week. Not even good stuff; OK, Bing Crosby and “White Christmas” is doable once or twice, but it’s mostly things like Garth Brooks and Mariah Carey covers. And they won’t be playing anything else until December 26th.
I’ve caught snippets of carols here and there in various order levaquin retail establishments, too. Of course, the decoration and stocking stuffer crap has been prominently displayed since before Hallowe’en. Yeah, I looked; I’ve been thinking of going to LED lights for the trees.
What gets stromectol me so upset about it is two things: start the Christmas season that early, and things don’t get done because there’s “plenty of time” to do them…until there isn’t, and all of a sudden everybody looks up and holy shit, it’s Dec. 20th, shopping not done, decorations barely up. And by the time it does get here, everybody’s going to be so thoroughly sick and tired of all the crap that a lot of people, me included, have trouble really enjoying the holiday.
